In my opinion, there is no "one-size-fits-all" or "best method" for working with our trauma. What works for one might not work for others; what worked for me today might not even work for me tomorrow. That doesn't mean the work is a crapshoot. It means our journey requires attention, but it also indicates we need resources. You never know what might hold the key to liberation, yours, mine, and ours.
One of my main goals for my website is to create a library of resources. The good news is there is a lot available and it's diverse in perspective and method. Poke around with hope.
Below is a section of links to materials related to The Wisdom of Trauma, a film by Science and Nonduality featuring the work of Gabor Maté.
There is also a page for podcasts, for books (a little messy right now), for articles, and a page for websites and people (both very messy right now). I'll soon have a page for videos.
I'd rather be vulnerable with my mess and incompleteness on the hope that someone might stumble upon what they need for the next step in their journey toward wholeness and liberation, so, here you have it.
May you find the resources, companions, and curious graces & tender mercies you need to journey into the fullness of your life.
I'm often working on several projects at once and do have a private practice of trauma-informed spiritual direction. Sometimes I'm very busy, sometimes not so much; but I try to regularly update the resource pages, so check back often.
AND, I am ALWAYS happy to receive suggestions of a book, podcast, person, website, or other resource that you found helpful. I'll certainly consider posting it. You can contact me at the link below.
There are three pages of resources for the film The Wisdom of Trauma:
A rather messy listing of articles on lots of topics.
Outside websites that often have good resources.
